Hi, this is bboy Splendid. I have been breaking since 2000 in various parts of the country.
I began at college where I taught myself the basic foundation that was needed. I was part of a crew called Motion, and performed at a few local events and club nights. This helped to further my interest and improve my knowledge of the dance, whilst also gaining valuable experience of performing in public.
In 2002 I moved to Bristol where I met and joined the Physical Jerks Crew, which enabled me to improve my training manner. I now train for two hours everyday, and try to focus this training as directly as possible.
My main interest is the integration of dance, footwork and power, and I try to combine all these elements within my style. I feel that my strengths lie in the originality of my style and the way this is apparent throughout all the different moves that I combine together. I concentrate on keeping this style consistent throughout my dance, footwork and power, and try to combine it with a good relation to the music. When I dance I try to make it an expression of my feelings generated by the music, and use this to keep a good amount of energy and feeling in my movements.
I am constantly pushing to improve in every manner of my dance. For the near future I am hoping to enter as many competitions as possible to meet and learn from other dancers. I am also interested in teaching, as I would like to share the skills that I have learned, and show people this art form.
